Company chats

Company chats sets who can chat in the company and department rooms, and which apps can post into chats across the company. Every member can open it; company owners and admins change it.

How to open Company chats​

  1. Open Company settings.
  2. Under Workplace, select Company chats.

What you can set​

  • Company chat — turn it on and every employee can chat in the company room; off, people reply to posts only. Company chat happens in the company announcements room, so Company announcements is turned on first.
  • Who can chat? — with company chat on, choose who chats: Everyone, Admins, Admins and creators, Reporting heads, Who can post announcements or Selected employees.
  • Departments · Chat — one switch per department. On, everyone in the department can chat in its room. Enable all turns on every department whose announcements are on.
  • Chat apps — the master switch for apps that post into room chats, Add any API or app, Company connections, Who can connect apps, and one switch per app under Apps.
