Announcements
Announcements reaches everyone in the room and comes back as acknowledgements, so you know who has read a post. Room owners post by default and can choose other people who can post. Everyone in the room can read, react and acknowledge.
How to post an announcement
- Open the room, select Apps and choose Announcements (in the People & flow band).
- Select New post.
- Write a Headline and the body, and choose a category: Update, Urgent, Policy or Event.
- Optionally add a cover or files with Upload or From room Files, or Generate image from the post.
- Set the options:
- Pin to top — stays above newer posts until you unpin it.
- Ask people to acknowledge — shows an Acknowledge button and tracks who has not.
- Allow chat — a chat under the post, separate from the room chat.
- Schedule — publish later, or keep Publish now.
- Select Publish (or Schedule). Select Save draft to keep a draft only you can see.
The post drops into the room chat as a card and everyone in the room is notified.
Ask the agent on the right of the composer to draft the headline, body and category. Select Redraft until it reads right. A post drafted from the Agent Center waits for your approval before it goes out.
How to see who has acknowledged
- Open the post's menu and select Acknowledged, or select See who has acknowledged on the post.
- Each person shows as Acknowledged, Seen or Not seen.
- Tick the people who have not acknowledged (or Select all) and select Remind, or Notify to send the notification again.
Only the people who can post see the acknowledgement list.
How to manage a post
Open the menu on a post to Edit, Publish now (for a draft), Pin to top or Unpin, Share to rooms (post a copy in rooms you own), or Delete.
How to choose who can post
- In Announcements, select the settings icon (Who can post).
- Keep Room owners, or select Choose people and tick who can post.
- Switch on Restrict chat so only people who can post write in the room chat. Reactions and the chat under each post stay open to everyone.
Only the room owner can change who posts. Guests can't post.
