TimeTrack
TimeTrack records time against the work itself. A clock runs on the task you are working on, a typed entry covers the time you forgot, and meeting attendance and agent runs are counted without anyone pressing anything — all in one ledger per room. The room owner sets TimeTrack up and decides who sees whose time; everyone always sees their own time in full.
TimeTrack must be switched on for your company first, and it is offered in group and project rooms — never in one-on-one or personal rooms. Until the room owner finishes setup, nothing is measured. There are no screenshots, no window titles and no browsing history — time comes only from work inside Qik Office.
How to set up TimeTrack (room owner)
- Open the Room Apps picker and select TimeTrack under the Tasks band (Project management in a project room).
- Select Set up TimeTrack. Setup is six short steps:
- Shape — What shape is the work? The unit follows the room's method: hours for boards and milestones, points for sprints.
- Capture — How is time captured? Timer, typed entries or both, plus whether meetings and agent runs are Measured without anyone pressing anything.
- Visibility — Who sees whose time? Choose who can see anybody else's time, and Changes that wait for you.
- Ladder (or Points in a sprint room) — the estimate taps offered on a task, or the point scale and what One point equals, plus Rounding of logged time and Freezing.
- Billing — no money, company-wide rates or one flat room rate, with a Currency.
- Review — check everything and, if you like, Bring in the last 30 days of meetings and agent runs.
- Select Turn on TimeTrack.
Anyone else who opens TimeTrack before setup sees What you would see and can Ask the owner.
How to record time on a task
- Open a task in the room.
- Select Start a clock to start timing it. One clock runs per person, so starting another stops the first and keeps its time.
- Select Stop the clock when you are done, or Log time on this task to type an entry.
If the room allows it, moving your own card into an in-progress column on a board can start your clock automatically. Clocks left running past the end of a working day appear under Clocks stopped for you and are not counted until you confirm them.
How to read the ledger
TimeTrack opens in tabs:
- Now — what is Running right now, what Needs attention, and the period's totals.
- People — logged, billable and available hours per person (for those allowed to see the room's time).
- Boards (or Milestones / Sprints) — hours against budget, forecast, and for sprints hours per point and focus factor.
- Approvals — room owner only; changes Waiting for you to approve, held from billing until you decide.
- Billing and Rates — when billing is on: billable hours, revenue, margin and rates.
Suggested entries, just for you are AI-proposed entries that only you can see; nothing counts until you accept them.
