Drive where you keep files, the room where you work on them
Google Drive stays the home of the file. The room gets a link that opens it, previews it and keeps it next to the conversation.
Linked, not copied
Picked files are attached as links to the original in Drive, and open in the room’s file viewer with a Drive preview.
Pick several at once
The Google Drive picker takes a multi-select, and the files land in whichever Files folder you have open.
New Doc, Sheet or Slide
Room owners and hosts can create a blank Google Doc, Sheet or Slide in their Drive and have it attached to the room in the same step.

From a note’s export menu, Convert & attach to room turns the note into a Google Doc and attaches it to Files.
More than one Drive account
Connect a work and a personal Google account, choose which one to pick from, and remove an account whenever you like.
Governed by your company
Admins switch Google Drive on or off in Apps & Integrations. Off hides the Drive buttons and pauses new connections; connected accounts carry on until members remove them.

Every note has an export menu with two halves: download a copy for yourself, or convert the note and attach the result to the room.
A real Google Doc
The note becomes a Google Doc in your Drive, titled after the note, ready for comments and suggestions in Google Docs.

The new Doc is linked into the room’s Files straight away, so everyone in the room can open it from one place.
Downloads beside it
The same menu downloads the note as a PDF, a Word document or plain text whenever a file is what you need.
