Organization structure is the last card in Company details. Turn on what you use, put it in your order, and the settings, the company menu, the org chart and the workspace list follow.

A workspace for every unit
Create a region, a store or a committee and it gets its own workspace, marked with its type’s icon in the workspace list.

Turn a department into a team from its ⋯ menu. Its workspace, rooms, heads, employees and linked policies stay exactly as they are.

Every type has its own row in the company menu with an Org chart shortcut, and the chart filters to show one type at a time.
Nothing left behind

Group units under a hub, keep each one whole
A hub gathers units as its spokes. The hub is a unit too, with a workspace for the people who lead the group, while every spoke keeps its own workspace, heads and employees.
Attach or create spokes
Attach existing units to a hub from its card, or create a new spoke straight from the hub. A unit sits in one hub at a time.
A workspace for the hub’s leaders
The heads of every spoke join the hub’s workspace as its admins, so hub-wide rooms have the group’s leaders in them from the start.

No. Departments are one type among nine. A company of stores can switch Departments off and run on regions and stores, as long as no departments are left.
Units are flat: each is its own workspace, side by side. The one grouping is a hub, which gathers other units as its spokes.
Yes. Someone can be in the IT department, the APAC region and the safety committee at once, and is a member of each unit’s workspace.
The unit keeps its workspace, rooms, heads, employees and linked policies. Its icon and the settings page it is listed under follow the new type.
They leave the unit’s workspace too. Nothing is deleted: the rooms they were in stay available to them as shared rooms.
