Microsoft Teams

Import your Microsoft Teams setup into Qik Office: each team becomes a workspace, each channel becomes an agentic room with its members and message history, and new channel messages keep flowing into the room's chat. Messages travel one way, from Teams into the room, each with a Synced from Teams mark. The import is run by a company owner.

info

Teams import is set up for your company with the Qik team — contact us to start it.

How the import works

  1. Sign in with the Microsoft account that belongs to your teams.
  2. Import from teams lists every team you belong to, with its channels and member counts.
  3. Select the teams and channels to bring in. For each workspace, edit the Workspace name and choose its owners; for each channel, edit the Room name and choose the Room owners.
  4. Select Import selected and confirm. The confirmation shows how many people from Teams will be added to your company.
  5. Follow progress in the Activity Log until it reads Successfully Imported from Teams.

A team whose name matches an existing workspace is placed into that workspace.

What comes across

  • Teams as workspaces, channels as agentic rooms, named after the channel.
  • Members and roles — Teams owners become room owners, members become hosts and guests become users. People without a Qik account are added by their Teams identity.
  • Messages and replies — channel history with threads intact, under each author's name.
  • Live updates — new messages, edits and deletions follow automatically, and a channel created later in an imported team arrives as a new room.
tip

To record a Teams meeting, add its link to the room and send the meeting bot. See Meeting bot.
