Assign speakers

In online meetings, each participant is labelled by name. In in-person and uploaded recordings, Qik Office separates speakers by voice. It names the room users it recognises from their voice sample. Any other voice shows as a label such as SPEAKER 2. The room Owner can assign each voice to a person. The transcript then updates, and the minutes are regenerated with the right names.

How to assign a speaker

  1. Open the recording and its transcript from Recordings or Transcripts.
  2. Click the speaker label (it shows a pencil icon).
  3. In Assign SPEAKER_X, use Search users to find a room user and select them. If the person isn't in the room, select Add custom user and enter a name, or use Enter email.
  4. Select Assign.

Every line from that speaker is reassigned, and the AI minutes are updated so decisions and action items carry the right name.

note

Only room Owners can assign speakers. Others see Only room owners can assign speakers. Speaker assignment is for in-person and uploaded recordings.

tip

Ask your team to record a voice sample once. The agent then recognises them automatically in in-person meetings. See Voice diarization.
