Project rooms
A project room is an agentic room set up to deliver one piece of work. When nobody is in a call it opens on the project screen — the current milestone or sprint and a card per member with their open and overdue tasks — and its dock leads with chat, the plan, tasks, files and meetings. Every project is run by the AI project manager. Any company member can create a project and becomes its Owner; room Owners and Editors can switch a room to a project and back.
How to create a project
- In the Office list, select the Create (+) button at the bottom right.
- Select New agentic room. The new-room dialog opens.
- Select New project at the top.
- Check the workspace shown at the top of the dialog, and select it to pick a different one.
- Enter the project name in Enter project name.
- Under Project type, choose Milestones or Sprints. See Milestones and Sprints.
- Under Project members, add the people working on it.
- Select Create project.
The agent role pill shows AI Project Manager and cannot be changed: a project is always run by the AI project manager. In the room, its agent bar calls it the Project agent.
Not sure which type to pick? Milestones suit work that moves through named stages towards a date — a launch, a relocation, a certification. Sprints suit a team that delivers in repeating time boxes off a backlog. You can switch later and keep every task.
How to switch a room to a project
- Open the room and select Room settings.
- In the Room section, under Room type, choose Project.
- In the confirmation Make this a project?, select Make it a project.
- Under Project runs, choose Milestones or Sprints.
To turn a project back into a room, open the Project section of Room settings, choose Room under Room type and confirm with Make it a room. You can also switch from Room settings › Tasks: choosing Milestones or Sprints makes the room a project, and choosing Boards makes it a room again.
Nothing is deleted either way. Every task, board and message stays. What changes is the screen the room opens on, the apps in its dock, and what its boards are called. One-on-one rooms, breakout rooms and private rooms cannot become projects.
The project screen
When you open a project room without joining a call, the middle of the room shows:
- The current milestone or sprint — its name, dates, progress ring and pending tasks.
- A card per member — each person's open and overdue tasks, so you see who is carrying what.
Join the call and the meeting takes over the screen. Leave it and the project screen comes back.
Project settings
In a project, Room settings groups the planning sections under Project:
- Tasks — How this room works (Boards, Milestones or Sprints), Task numbering and Completed tasks.
- Milestones or Sprints — the Milestone defaults or Sprint defaults every new milestone or sprint starts with. See Rules.
The agent in a project
The AI project manager reads each recorded meeting against the plan. From the AI minutes it proposes tasks to add, statuses to change, due dates, tasks to mark complete, and a new milestone or sprint on an editable card. Nothing changes until someone applies the suggestion; rejected suggestions are marked Rejected on the minutes.
