Two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step at sign-in for extra security. Choose an email code, an authenticator app or a passkey, and keep recovery codes for when you can't use them. If your company requires 2FA, you can't turn it off — see Security and 2FA.
How to turn on 2FA
- Open Personal settings (avatar menu › Profile).
- Select Security.
- Turn on Two-factor authentication.
- Set up one or more methods:
- Email code — a 6-digit code is emailed to you at sign-in. Select Enable.
- Authenticator app — use Google or Microsoft Authenticator. Select Set up and follow Set up authenticator app.
- Passkey — sign in with Face ID, Touch ID or a security key. Select Add passkey.
- Under Recovery codes, select Generate and keep Your recovery codes somewhere safe.
Signing in with 2FA
After your password, Two-step verification asks for your second factor. Choose a method, enter the code (or use your passkey) and select Verify.
How to turn off 2FA
- Open Personal settings › Security.
- Turn off Two-factor authentication and confirm Disable 2FA.
